The Australian and New Zealand Babywearing week theme in 2014 was 'Share the Adventure'. This prompted me to start writing this blog as my husband and I Babywear all the time, it is just something we do, therefore I thought I would share some of our adventures.
We discovered Babywearing over 5 years ago when we had our first boy. Babywearing has allowed my family and I to continually go out and experience life and its adventures so much easier. Babywearing has allowed my husband and I to travel to England and France for a month with a 3 year and 1.5 year old at the time comfortably with only 2 baby carriers and not a stroller in site, we have been able to go whale watching, seal spotting on boats, hiked many walking trails, go to the beach with now three children with hands free to carry the towels, sand buckets, trucks etc. Could not have done Kindy and school drop offs without a baby carrier some days. Babywearing has helped in managing a few toddler meltdowns by quickly picking my boy up popping him in a carrier to help him feel safe and settle down quickly and continue on with the day. Just the other day I was able to carry my 4 year old and nearly 2 year old from the beach as they were too tired to walk the 1 km home with one in the baby carrier on my back and carried one in my arms. I Babywear to keep up with my older children on their bikes so I have both hands to assist them over gutters and across roads.
There are so many benefits to Babywearing one it has assisted in conditioning my body to carry my growing 1,4, and 5 year old boys. I feel stronger than I ever have been without too many gym sessions just lots of carrying and running after the boys.I just can't imagine how life would have been if we had never discovered babywearing
I couldn't imagine trying to lug prams to some of the places we have been and discovered. Here are a few images of our adventures we have had as a babywearing family. If you want to know more on Babywearing or would like to talk to me about baby carrier options please contact me firstname.lastname@example.org or 07 3283 8141. I know what you're thinking. I'm a man, I can carry the world, why would I need a baby carrier? The answer is that you probably don't. However, they do make life just a little bit easier. Tell me you don't want that? Just carry a child in your arms for 30 minutes and no matter how strong [...]
